The rumor is a tenuous one and comes to us via a change to developer Beenox’s X banner spotted by LuchoComix. Earlier this week the banner art was changed to an image which featured games from the studio’s catalog of titles. One of those images was of everybody’s favorite Bandicoot driving a kart. But here is the catch: the render of Crash was new.
That is to say, Crash was sporting a new look in the image. His appearance was closer to that seen in Crash Bandicoot 4, released in 2021, two years after Nitro-Fueled. The banner did not last very long, Beenox quickly replaced it with one promoting Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
So, does this mean that a new Crash Team Racing is on the way? Not necessarily, but it certainly seems possible now.
