PS5 Faceplates Can’t Be Used On PS5 Pro

The controversy behind the PS5 Pro continues to spin as it’s basically confirmed the current PS5 faceplates aren’t compatible with the mid-gen refresh. Odds are, Sony will reveal faceplates for the PS5 Pro specifically, only adding to the insane price the console already is.

A Reddit user who appeared to have early access to the Pro came forward noting that the faceplates simply don’t work with the new console. To add to this, VGC points to a Japanese Amazon listing infographic that seems to confirm this.

The PS5 Pro is right around the corner — November 7 — and while games have been coming out of the woodwork to introduce patches, such as Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and Spider-Man 2, the $700 price tag is an understandable turn-off for many, many perspective buyers.
