The hardcore fans just started salivating at the idea.
According to what Hideo Kojima said during a recent roundtable interview at E3 (as attended by GameReactor ), a true remake of the original Metal Gear Solid could be on the way.
Kojima said he wants to use his studio's next-generation Fox Engine for the project, but he's currently looking for an external studio to handle the adaptation. Metal Gear Solid launched in 1998 for the PlayStation and was a bona fide instant classic. To this day, it's widely regarded as one of the best video games ever made. It received a remake in 2004 when Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes released on the GameCube, but wouldn't a fresh remake with the Fox Engine be cool ? Who wouldn't want that?
I'd still rather have a FFVII remake but as that's not possible anymore, we can pin our hopes to Kojima and Co.
