Here's hoping you enjoy Star Wars: Battlefront because Electronic Arts isn't stopping with this entry.
Speaking during the UBS Global technology Conference in San Francisco (as cited by GameSpot ), EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said the company's 10-year licensing deal with Disney will result in multiple Battlefront installments:
"We struck a licensing deal with Disney a few years back that's almost ten years in length. The game that comes out tomorrow, Star Wars Battlefront, is a traditional first-person style shooter game. Our goal is to make future Battlefront games as well as other style games around the Star Wars franchise, both on mobile as well as console and PC. It's a huge opportunity for us."
Furthermore, Jorgensen confirmed that the aforementioned Disney deal doesn't merely cover the six "Star Wars" movies released to date, but also the new film – "The Force Awakens" – and upcoming core and spin-off installments. This basically means EA will try to take advantage and deliver lots of games the fans will love. Added the CFO:
"We get access to all of the historical content as well as all the new content developed. The beauty of the Star Wars franchise is it's almost unlimited in what you can do with it. We know Disney has done a great job with other franchises and we believe they'll do the same with Star Wars over time in delivering new worlds, new characters, new vehicles, all the things that make great video games. Our goal is not to make video games directly about the movies, it's to use the IP in the movie to make great, exciting games."
Star Wars: Battlefront launches today for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Oh no, sounds like I better go out & milk the cow right this moment before EA gets their own idea for a decades worth of fondling her teats.

Will not Space Milk freeze? So Ice Cream it is.
so they want battlefront to go up against cod and battlefield.
okay sure why not.
ill be getting battlefront this week so hopefully its as good as the beta naysayers have been bashing it
I don't know, I have a feeling that battlefront will be replacing battlefield going forward. Hope it's not true, but I'm sure EA paid A LOT of money for that 10-year licence, so they'll want to make their money back AND ensure a health profit.
Yearly release confirmed.
Somewhere in there should be a single player story mode game. If they take it to uncharted proportions then I am in.
They might piqued my interest, if one has a single player story mode game. But til then nope, not interested.
Still not intrested. And judging from the medicore reviews im not missing anything special.
Will be getting it tomorrow, playing the beta sold me.
