Mother Russia Bleeds Is Jammed With Gruesome Retro Violence

What do you get when you mix Streets of Rage with Hotline Miami ?

Developer Devolver Digital has given that awesome concept a name: Mother Russia Bleeds , which is the team's latest project.

It's a side-scrolling beat-'em-up that was described during Sony's E3 press conference as an "ultra-violent co-op brawler." Set in an alternate U.S.S.R. reality where a group of imprisoned street fighters rebel against an oppressive criminal authority, the focus is squarely on the in-your-face combat. And yeah, the violence is definitely off the charts, as you can see below.

The developer also released a fact sheet that contains names like Merciless Struggle and Powerful Narcotics.

Yeah, not for the kiddies.
