Physint Needs 5 To 6 More Years

Hideo Kojima’s Sony-backed Physint will probably take five to six more years before it’s completed. He’s also finally mulling over directing his own film.

In a Le Film interview (via GamingBolt), they touched on him directing a film, which he has shared interest in in the past, but it sounds like his game development held him back from really jumping to that space.

“Yes, I would! I had many offers after I left Konami, with serious conditions for developing games in my independent studio. Alongside Death Stranding 2, there’s Physint in development. It will take me another five or six years.

But maybe after that, I’ll finally decide to make a film. I grew up with cinema. Directing would be a kind of tribute to it. What’s more, I’m getting on in years, and I’d rather do it while I’m still young!”

Considering some of the things he’s alluded to, such as the game blending game and film elements to the point your mom may think you’re watching a film, it’s fair to say the game will have to look good, which naturally will take time.

What do you think? Are you still excited about Physint even if it’s not on the horizon? Let us know below!
