Much to this contributor’s pleasure, Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have announced a remake to survival horror classic Fatal Frame 2. Originally released in 2003 for the PS2, the original title features twins Mio and Mayu Amakura finding themselves in Minakami, or “All-Gods” Villlage, where the inhabitants- well, that’s spoilers, but it’s a Fatal Frame/Project Zero title so it does rather go without saying that a ritual went extraordinarily wrong.
This contributor will not comment further, since they’ve gone on record noting their fondness for the original title on this very website. There’s no news of additions quite yet, but considering Team Ninja is working on the remake, there’s no doubt that it’s going to be a gorgeous if darkly lit title at the very minimum.
There’s no official date, only notice that the game will release early in 2026. It will release on Switch, PC, Xbox Series and the PlayStation 5.
