Elden Ring: Nightreign Announces The Forsaken Hollows DLC

In a recent press release, Kadokawa, the parent company of FromSoftware, announced that Elden Ring had performed ‘well beyond initial expectations’. They also reiterated that they planned to launch DLC as a way to further capitalize on the title.

Now, just mere days later, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have announced the first wave of DLC “The Forsaken Hollows.” In a both trailer posted to YouTube and blog post on PlayStation Blog, the new DLC showed off two new characters with abilities that seem to be quite different from the existing characters.

The two characters are named Scholar and Undertaker. They are described as:

Scholar: An academic who walks the Lands Between. Boasting impressive arcane levels, he gains incredible advantages through battlefield observation.

Undertaker: An abbess who was mandated to slay the Nightlord. Boasting impressive strength and faith, she sends enemies to the afterlife with ruthless efficiency.

There has also been two extra bosses confirmed. Currently, there are no details about these bosses. Finally, there has also been a new “Shifting Earth” event known as “The Great Hollow” confirmed. This even sees a cavity appear with remnants of an ancient civilization. There will also be life draining crystals present in certain areas.

The DLC is confirmed to launch on December 4, 2025. Accordingly, it will launch in just over three weeks from the time of announcement.
