Bethesda Eyes Releasing Starfield To PS5 In 2026

After the weak sales of its expansion, Shattered Space, Bethesda is looking at releasing their controversial space-faring action RPG, Starfield, to PS5 next year… at least that’s what the rumor says.

Sources from MP1st claim a spring 2026 release window is on the table. It’s also supposedly going to coincide with some quality-of-life update and the promised second expansion. Notably, though, this won’t be part of Xbox’s docket during this month’s Gamescom event, which is already pretty stacked with not just Hollow Knight: Silksong present and playable, but also their ROG partnered handheld, the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X.

Murmurs of Starfield on PS5 have been happening for some time. With Xbox more than willing to share some of their biggest IPs with PlayStation, Starfield, which was no doubt in development for all consoles by the time of the acquisition before pivoting to Xbox and PC, just makes sense to release. Moreover, their games kill it on PlayStation charts.
