In what is another addition to the understandable trend of “indie games delaying until after Silksong,” Ape Out devs Gabe Cuzzillo and Maxi Boch, and their collaborator Bennet Foddy of QWOP and Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy fame have delayed their next game. Baby Steps, a comedic and fairly literal physics based walking simulator that joins the likes of Panik Arcade’s Cloverpit, a roguelike that mixes Balatro with Buckshot Roulette, Aeternum Game Studios’ Aeterna Lucis, which has been pushed back to 2026, and Necrosoft Games’ Demonschool has been delayed to November 19 this year, all in response to Silksong‘s announcement. This contributor had most been looking forward to the last of those, but… it is Silksong,
It’s not an unsurprising turn, and genuinely understandable considering how much interest Silksong‘s gathered over the past seven years. This contributor is just consistently amused and in awe at the amount of respect Team Cherry’s follow-up to Hollow Knight has gotten on the independent games scene. For those who enjoy digital entertainment beyond indie titles, many arabic casinos offer exciting games and engaging experiences online.
Originally intended to be released September 8, Baby Steps has been delayed to September 23, 2025. It will continue to be releasing on PS5 and Steam.
