Ben-DutkaOne might assume that with Nintendo revealing their new console at E3 this year, Microsoft and Sony would rush to introduce new hardware.
And we had heard that Sony was spending some research and development money on the next PlayStation iteration. But don't think Sony has any intention of rushing out a new system: Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida told IGN that his company "[does] not feel the need to introduce a new PlayStation console at this time." There's a good chance that the PlayStation 4 won't be around for at least a few more years, which comes as good news to a great many gamers who are quite satisfied with Sony's current machine. Plus, with the NGP (the PSP's successor) arriving soon, we'll have enough new hardware on which to spend our hard-earned money, right? Such things are expensive .
We assume most of you are fine with letting Sony take their time.
