It was quite possibly the biggest launch title for the PS2 and now, over a decade later, the sequel is coming to light.
Famitsu has been offering new details on Namco's Tekken Tag Tournament 2 , and the latest report talks about the new game's "Stage Gimmick" system. It's a little confusing based on the translation but it seems our partner – this is Tekken TAG, after all – may end up in an advantageous environmental position. The example Fmaitsu gave is when you slam an opponent into a wall; that wall breaks, and he goes flying through it to land in a new area. In that new area, it just so happens that your partner is waiting for the hapless victim, and continues to beat the tar out of him. They also have revealed the game's item system and this time, those items aren't just for show. No, they can actually be used to give yourself the edge…it seems weapons like a bat and a "hammer head" will be featured.
Okay, so that's a little Soul Calibur influence, but we're okay with that. As for confirmed characters, we don't have a full roster list but the magazine gave readers glimpses of Kazuya Mishima (well, of course), Ling Xiaoyu, Zafina, and Bob. Producer Katsuhiro Harada also added that all playable characters from Tekken 6 will return. So who's up for this?
