February Game Informer: Skyrim Leads, Silent Hill Unveiled

Next month's Game Informer ought to be well worth a read; just check out the scheduled content.

First and foremost is the title on the cover: the recently announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim , in development at Bethesda and guaranteed to appeal to hardcore role-playing fans everywhere. Evidently, the print version of the magazine cover will feature a "special ultraviolet coating that accentuates the symbol in the center, giving a striking, three-dimensional texture to the image." The 14-page feature will also boast 20 new screenshots and a ton of info on the game's story and gameplay, so brace yourself for an RPG explosion! But there's more: GI lists their top 50 games of 2010, gives us a new blowout on Mortal Kombat , their Dead Space 2 review, and our personal favorite, the "frightening look at the newest Silent Hill." We've been hearing about this for quite some time, but everything has been speculation; we have little in the way of confirmed details. And oh yes, we've been waiting on a new Silent Hill for a loooong time.

Well, just to clarify, we've been waiting on a SH installment that wasn't a portable or downloadable title. The PS3 could lend the freaky franchise a whole lot of intense, chilling atmosphere…
