Could 2011 Become The Greatest Gaming Year Ever?

2010 was another great year but at this rate, 2011 may end up rivaling 1998 and 2001 as one of the most groundbreaking, memorable 365-day spans in the industry's history.

Although everyone is expecting Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception to rule all (and that's very likely), the list of unbelievable titles slated for 2011 is enough to make one drool. The list just keeps growing and in all honesty, it's tough to keep a firm handle on all the potentially fantastic games in the hopper for next year: inFamous 2 should be another addictive action blast, Batman: Arkham City looks downright amazing, Resistance 3 and Killzone 3 might dominate the FPS genre, L.A. Noire is immensely intriguing, Gears of War 3 should be the grittiest bit of bad-assery yet, Dead Space 2 is primed to terrorize us again (and leave a huge smile on our faces in the process), LittleBigPlanet 2 is just another step in creative freedom and innovation, The Last Guardian might be an artistic achievement of epic proportions, Twisted Metal just screams pure, unadulterated entertainment, Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3 are atop the heap for role-playing fans, and of course, you can expect the next Call of Duty to bring in the dedicated crowds.

And that's hardly the complete list. I'm sure I missed plenty. The Devil May Cry reboot comes to mind as something we all might adore (provided Ninja Theory does everything right), and if there's a God in heaven, Final Fantasy Versus XIII will release in 2011 and single-handedly redeem Square-Enix. And what about the long, long wait that is finally over… Duke Nukem Forever ? And Diablo III ? And Max Payne 3 ? Rage ? Crysis 2 ? Deus Ex: Human Revolution ? The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim ? SSX: Deadly Descents ? Journey ? Metal Gear Solid: Rising ? …where's the end? 'jaw drops'
