Raven Seeking Help For “Realistic Military Shooter”

It has become quite the intriguing question: "what is Raven Software working on?"

Well, Kotaku first reported that the studio was in consideration to develop a new Call of Duty and most recently, it was brought to light that Raven might be cranking away on a new, stealthier James Bond iteration . But now, the Activision-owned studio is apparently looking for someone to help with a "realistic, first-person military shooter," as evidenced by a job listing. Found by Connected Consoles , the listing is as follows; are you qualified?

"Raven Software, developer of numerous award-winning games, including X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Wolfenstein and Singularity, is seeking a lead visual effects artist to drive the development of stunning visual effects for an established console-based, realistic, first-person military shooter."

They want someone experienced, too, as they ask for "footage of published and highly realistic effects (weapons, atmospherics, etc.) placed in highly realistic next-gen game environments with a shot-by-shot breakdown” along with “other effects (sci-fi, fantasy, etc.), game assets (models, textures, lighting), or film work a plus." Now, this doesn't sound like Bond but it does sound like CoD, or perhaps even a new Wolfenstein .

If it must be the latter, we're hoping for some big-time improvement. If it's a new CoD, that's gonna surprise us. If it's a new IP…well, let's hope for the new IP.
