Kratos Joins Mortal Kombat’s Ranks

Characters from action games have often popped up in fighting titles this generation, and the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot is no exception.

According to the latest issue of OPM, as cited by Game Informer , one of the most recognizable names – and faces – in all of PlayStation gaming will be included in the fighter roster. It's Kratos from the stellar God of War series, and we're willing to bet he'll be quite the effective combatant. He won't be playable in the main story mode but he will be available in Versus mode, and he'll definitely have "his own move set, complete with fatalities." GoW creator, David Jaffe, has already commented on the inclusion on his Twitter page :

"LOVE that Kratos is in the new MK. So bummed he's not in the story portion. Heard about it from Ed at E3 this year and had to keep super mum on it but man, ****ing LOVE it. He totally fits in that world. I **** you not- on some level I feel like all the characters I work on are alive and that I have a relationship with them and I can tell you, if I know Kratos- and I do!- he's ****ing LOVING his time in the MK Universe. I bet he makes a **** ton of friends there. He should pull Zeus in and ****ing leave his ass there!"

Yes, it's true that Kratos most certainly fits the atmosphere. Furthermore, it seems even more fighters for Mortal Kombat have been confirmed, but these probably aren't surprising: Goro, Quan Chi, Stryker, Noob Saibot, Sindel, Kabal, Smoke, Shang Tsung and Ermac. Ah, the memories…Goro's annoying reach, Noob Saibot's even more annoying teleportation, Smoke's…smoke, etc. Yes, we all played MK at one point in time; will the reboot rekindle our love affair with the series?
