We knew Killzone 3 was set to release some time in February, thanks to E3, but we didn't have an exact date.
Now we do. Sony has announced that Guerrilla's hotly anticipated FPS will hit store shelves on February 22, almost exactly two years after the groundbreaking KZ2 released. Based on what we know about the new entry, the Helghast should be more defined, and the developers have worked to make the story and dialogue better. The addition of jetpacks has been documented everywhere, and the team has always said they wanted the environments to be more diverse. They've also talked about fine-tuning and tweaking the movement and mechanics, which initially got fans of KZ2 a little upset…why change it when it's so unique and sets the game apart from other shooters? Especially when it finally makes it feel as if the character we control has weight? Well, you needn't fret, as Guerrilla has clarified that such a feel will still be there, but they wanted to streamline the control; they wanted to eliminate any potential for dead spaces and make everything seamless.
It blew away the crowd at E3 but then again, it probably helped that they were all given 3D glasses so they could see KZ3 in three-dimensional glory. Will you want those glasses for the game? Maybe you'll be ready after getting them for Gran Turismo 5 …
