Okay, so we have the God of War Collection , and high-definition overhauls of Sly Cooper , ICO and Shadow of the Colossus should also be headed our way at some point.
What other PS2 classics should receive the HD treatment for this generation? Well, don't count on Insomniac delivering HD remakes of old Ratchet and Clank titles: according to what the developer said on its Twitter page , they currently have no plans to do it. Still, that doesn't mean it's entirely out of the question as they say that while they "won't make it" they'd still "support Sony" if they decided to give Ratchet fans an upgraded version of a PS2 hit. Perhaps Sanzaru Games, which is handling the HD reissuing of Sly Cooper , could take on the job. But even if they don't, those who very much enjoyed the PS2 last generation have a laundry list of games they'd love to see again in high-definition; among them, Final Fantasy X and Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty . Personally, I think they should start distributing some of those PS2 games – as they are – on the PSN for downloading; we've got the PS1 classics, so how's about upping the ante with a newer generation…?
After all, the PS3 is no longer backwards compatible and old-school gaming is routinely brought into the limelight over and over with PS1 classics and PSN originals, so…why not?
