SCEE: “Only One Region For LBP…A LittleBigRegion”

Sometimes, when Sony steps forward and clears things up, the official result isn't good. But in this particular case, it's exactly the news we wanted to hear.

For the past several weeks, debate has raged concerning the "region status" of Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet . As it is a cooperative-based game and sharing amongst the community is an essential aspect of this ambitious title, the bigger and more diverse the audience, the better. However, due to different rules and restrictions in each major region, some said LittleBigPlanet would have to be independent to each territory. But thanks to a SCEE representative posting over at the official European PlayStation forums, it is now confirmed that LBP will have no such boundaries. "There will be only one region for the game…a LittleBigRegion," he said. Hence, you'll be able to try specially created levels by players from all over the world; the size and scope of this game just expanded to massive proportions.

Obviously, this being the case, it would help if LBP enjoyed a worldwide simultaneous release, and it appears it'll be close. No matter where you are, the last week of October is gonna be one LittleBigWeek!
