Last year's Mortal Kombat reboot was a tremendous success, so one would assume a new effort is in the works.
But there hasn't been anything official on that front…at least, not until now. According to StickSkills citing a Twitter discussion between MK co-creator Ed Boon and PlayStation social media manager Sid Shuman, "Mortal Kombat 10" may soon be unveiled. Here's the Tweet:
"RT @sidshuman So…are any publishers showing anything for DICE? Noobde: Other than MK10, nothing from us. ;)"
Boon is known for getting people talking, so this could just be a fun PR ploy. But then again, why wouldn't NetherRealm produce a new Mortal Kombat installment? They appear to be doing some great things with that Vita version , and the MK followers are definitely champing at the bit for a new installment. Last year's rejuvenating title went a long way towards restoring 100% faith in the bloody, iconic franchise.
So yeah, just…stay tuned.
